Resin and Glass Work

Kristol is a multimedia artist that became interested in working in resin as a college student at UC Irvine. Having worked to refine her craft since then, her pieces have changed over the years to include objects found while exploring in the great outdoors.

Working with resin is an exercise in patience, timing and in relinquishing control, all of which culminate into pieces that are unique and will be a cornerstone of any room they are put in. Pieces are built directly into salvaged frames or tables, depending on the overall aesthetic of the piece. Resin-based pieces typically include found objects encapsulated in resin so no tetanus shot will be needed if a curious hand wants to touch. Each found object was sourced from the beaches of the Puget sound, meaning that environmental cleanup is a small part of each piece's history.

Kristol began experimenting with glass work at UCI as well, though her methodology has changed drastically since then. What began as throwing windshield glass into a kiln has evolved into slumping bottles, adding frit into resin pieces, as well as several attempts at stained glass/resin fusion. Continuing that exploration through glass has led to new elements in all varieties of pieces.

Kristol will also create custom pieces on commission. Have a rock collection that you aren't sure how to display? Holding on to a knick-knack in memory of a loved one? Let us design a one-of-a-kind art piece or home accent featuring your collection or collectable to integrate it into your home design or decor.

Woodwork

Mike is a self-taught wood turner with a great eye for design and a solid understanding of his craft. His work often features live edges. He reinvents used cutting boards or other previously finished woodworks into turned wood pieces. Mike incorporates new methods and designs to enhance the character of each new piece. Those of us lucky enough to watch him in his shop cannot help but smile and be drawn into the magic that happens in there.

Whether using a unique piece of wood or reinventing other wood objects, Mike turns everyday items into extraordinary functional art for your space. While each piece started life as something entirely different, the finished piece with a nod to its natural element tells a story all its own.

It Doesn't Suck to Live Here.

Our works are inspired by our love of the PNW. As no two people are the same, no two pieces are exactly alike. When you connect with one, don’t wait!
